You rock Jon. I’ve been diving into some of your tips and already had success with your broken-link/link-suggestion method. I’m launching a ecommerce site that sells dive knives, have a blog per your suggestion, and wondered if you have thoughts on the best places/directories to submit RSS feeds beyond claiming a feedburner feed (advice from your complete list post).

I’ve tried to offer guest posts, contacted webmasters about broken links and the commented on blogs as well. As for what I can do differently, thats the big question isn’t it Jon?

Networking and building a rapport is the key as far as finding other bloggers are concerned or even link prospects.. its easier said than done.. I guess I am not alone in being a silent observer at a dozen or so blogs its time to get out of the shell it seems…

I have lately been engulfed in promotion campaigns for mobile apps and one thing is for sure, you need to have a strong outreach campaign and build connections with bloggers / journalists / techies as its highly competitive…

Saying hello in twitter / facebook, dropping them a friendly email (hint: I use tactics from a Shoemoney post, cant find the link ) and some flattery works most of the time..The key is sustaining the connection over a period of time so that its just not a one night stand, you never know when they’ll come in hand.
